I had the privilege of attending SHOT Show 2023; It’s clear that the innovations and advancements in shooting technology have taken a monumental leap forward.
Among the standout experiences this year was my visit to the Holosun booth, where I was introduced to a range of groundbreaking products that promise to redefine how we engage with shooting sports and tactical operations.
From the latest in night vision and thermal optics to state-of-the-art lighting solutions and magnifiers, Holosun has not only met the expectations set from last year’s showcase but has impressively surpassed them.
DRS Series: The Night Vision and Thermal Revolution
Stepping into the world of enhanced visibility, the DRS night vision and thermal optics have finally hit the shelves, as promised by Holosun.
The anticipation was palpable since their announcement last year, and now, the reality is even more exciting.
Shipping for the night vision model is underway, with the thermal variant not far behind. It is expected to be in our hands within the next few weeks.
The affordability of these units is something to talk about, making advanced night capabilities accessible to more shooters like us.
Elevating Accuracy: The PID-K and PID-K+
Holosun’s unveiling of the PID-K and PID-K+ lights was another highlight.
The PID-K+, with its integrated visible laser, has added a new level of precision to my shooting. The compact design is perfect for my micro carry, but don’t let the size fool you; the performance is mighty.
Whether you need a quick target acquisition in low light or the added assurance of a laser sight, these lights will have you covered.
AEMS Max: Expanding the Horizon
The collaboration with Ronin has produced the AEMS Max, an optic that offers a panoramic view of the battlefield.
The larger field of view, combined with the solar fail-safe and “shake awake” features, ensures that I’m always ready, regardless of the conditions.
RAID: A New Contender in Rifle Lighting
The RAID has redefined what I expect from a rifle-mounted light. With 80,000 candella and 1,000 lumens, it promises unmatched visibility for all my tactical needs.
The magnetic charging and replaceable battery are practical features that ensure my light is always ready.
Holosun has thought of everything, from thumb activation to tape switch operation, making it a versatile tool.
Holosun’s Thermal Pistol Optic Concept
When I got my first look at Holosun’s proof of concept for a thermal pistol optic at the booth, my mind was blown.
This isn’t just an optic; it’s a gateway to a new era of shooting technology.
The device pairs a thermal camera mounted on the accessory rail with a digital overlay in the pistol optic, sending a wireless image that transforms how we perceive our target.
And it doesn’t stop there; the thermal camera also incorporates a white light, merging functionality in a way I’ve never seen before.
The HM6X Magnifier
The HM6X magnifier has doubled down on the promise of extending your shooting capabilities. The jump to 6x magnification means that targets, once out of reach, are now within the grasp.
It’s a significant upgrade, and I’m eager to see how it enhances my performance on the field.
IRIS: Mastering the Night with Precision
The fact that IRIS is priced at $800, with the possibility of pairing it with the RAID for under $1,000, is incredible.
The IRIS system, with its integrated rifle infrared capabilities, is a masterpiece of innovation. The slider control for adjusting the IR illuminator’s width is a game-changer, allowing for quick changes without losing focus on the target.
Powered by CR123A batteries and equipped with a manual selector, it’s designed for the serious shooter who demands the best in night operations.
