The HOLOSUN HS507K-X2 is my top pick for the best red dot for M&P Shield. It’s a high-quality sight with several features that make it well-suited to the M&P Shield.

What I love about 507c – The 507K is the best red dot sight for M&P Shield. It has durability as much as Trijicon and mounts directly onto your M&P Shield.

One of the best features of the HOLOSUN HS507K-X2 is its automatic brightness control. This means that the dot will automatically adjust its brightness to match the environment that you are in. This is a great feature because it means you won’t have to fiddle with the brightness knob every time you move from a bright area to a darker one.

Multi Reticle: One of the most important factors when choosing a red dot sight is the reticle’s size. The reticle is the crosshair or dots you use to aim at your target. The HOLOSUN HS507K-X2 has a 2 MOA red dot which is ideal for close to medium-range shooting. The small reticle size allows for precise aiming while still being easy to see.

Solar backup: HOLOSUN HS507K-X2 comes with a solar backup. This means that if you run out of batteries, the solar panel on the top of the sight will power the dot so that you can continue to use it. This is a great feature because you will never have to worry about your sight going dark during a shooting session.

Durability – If You want a sight that can withstand being dropped or bumped around without losing its zero, then the HOLOSUN HS507K-X2 is the sight for you. The rugged aluminum construction can take a beating, and the sight is also waterproof and shockproof. This makes it ideal for use in harsh conditions.

Battery life: The last factor to consider when choosing a red dot sight is battery life. You want a sight that will stay powered on for as long as possible so that you don’t have to worry about changing batteries in the middle of a gunfight.

My Experience

I put the HS507K-X2 through many tests to see how it would perform in different conditions. And it performed flawlessly. The red dot stayed on target no matter what I did, and battery life was excellent – even after several hours of constant Use, the dot was still as bright as when I first turned it on.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Automatically adjusts brightness
  • 2 MOA red dot
  • Solar backup
  • Long battery life

Cons

  • Battery life

  1. Did the install on the optic ready shield plus require special mounting screws or were they included with sight? I’ve read some message boards where an additional screw pack was needed (The Ultimate Red Dot Screw Package )
